AMOK! practices the treasured knowledge and power of a Bladed Warrior's tradition.
Knifefighting is referred to as the
High Art of the Blade, because it combines and compounds
all of the elements present in both swordfighting and empty hands combat.

The training procedures elevate practices to the highest level of reflexive development through highly sophisticated methods of integration. Knifefighting is more complex than empty hands arts because it includes their elements compounded by the variables introduced by the
instrument.

Knifefighting is more complex than swordfighting because the shorter blade length is less
restrictive, it changes angles more quickly and the closer proximity allowed/demanded of a short blade naturally requires greater use of the free hand and remainder of the body.

In every sense, knifefighting is  a complete martial art.

Jesse, Amok! Tribal Leader, has been training regularly with
Mr. Sotis (also known as "Po") since 1999.

Some methods teach a curriculum where trainees progress
tediously through the basics, and don't get advanced tactics until much later on, which leaves them without essential tools incomplete and exposed for years!

AMOK!
alters this process wherein basics are established in the first several months, but the brunt of tactics are learned in the first 12-18 months.
Of course, it still takes time and effort to polish these skills, but while you do,
AMOK! will not leave you incomplete & exposed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it safe to learn?

You will not be cut because beginners always use hard foam or dull metal practice knives. Only experts and master may opt to use live blades with each other.

Should you learn to handle a knife?

If the odds are against you, and you are forced to defend yourself or a loved one, knowing how to handle a knife is your very best chance to successfully do it!

What if I don't have a knife?

AMOK! Is a mentality that is ideally expressed by the blade, but we are capable of improvising hand-held object or using just our empty hands to disable or terminate attackers. In every sense, AMOK! Is truly a complete martial art.

How much does it cost?

Because authentic knifefighting is quite rare one would expect to pay much more than common martial arts but this isn't true. AMOK! Is priced with rates competitive with other martial arts.
